Retro Jeep® Chief Concept at the Easter Jeep Safari
Oh. My. Word. The design folks at Jeep have outdone themselves yet again, with seven new concepts coming to the 2015 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. Several of this new crop are sweet retro concepts and the best, in my humble opinion, is the Jeep® Chief pictured above. The Chief concept is based on a modern Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but has been fitted with custom body work to harken back to the full-size Jeep (FSJ) Cherokee of the 1970s. My Uncle Jerry had a sweet red one back in the day.
From the blue color scheme and striping to the old-school grille, chrome bumpers, and slotted alloy rims, this Jeep concept gives off an awesome vibe. I don’t care whether you call it “retro” or “heritage design” or whatever – I want one!
The design folks didn’t skimp on the interior for this fully functioning concept either. They generously peppered the insides of this rig with flower pattern upholstery, door handle and dash appliques and the like to give a nod to the west coast surfer culture of yesteryear.
Be on the lookout for more coverage on these concepts and other news from the 2015 Easter Jeep Safari!
